Park Hyung Sik is reflecting on his early days as a member of ZE:A, and let’s just say—it wasn’t exactly glamorous.
At the end of the March 26th episode of tvN’s talk show You Quiz on the Block, a teaser aired featuring Park Hyung Sik as the next guest. The actor, currently riding high on the success of his hit drama Buried Hearts, is set to share behind-the-scenes stories from the show, including a particularly intense scene where he had to swim in the ocean after being shot.
“I didn’t think they’d actually make me go into the real ocean,” he says in the preview, laughing.
Park’s journey in entertainment began at the age of 20 when he debuted with ZE:A. “Things were really tough back then,” he recalls. “We had nine members and only one bathroom in the dorm.”
Co-host Cho Sae Ho reacted in disbelief, saying, “If someone took a dump in the morning, that place must’ve been a disaster!” Park laughed and added, “Yeah, we had to shower while breathing it all in.”
He also opens up about the struggles he faced early on. “I thought once we debuted, everything would be a smooth ride,” he admits. Park went on to appear in dramas like The Heirs and variety shows such as Real Men, steadily building a name for himself. “I told them I’d do anything. I just kept running forward, no matter what,” he shares.
And his effort paid off—he recently made headlines for reportedly earning 500 million KRW (approx. 341,000 USD) per episode for his projects.
