Former EXO member Luhan is under fire as cheating rumors continue to spread.
The controversy, first sparked by a female influencer earlier this year, has resurfaced after nearly six months. Fans are now criticizing Luhan’s team for failing to give a clear response, with the fallout hitting EXO’s Chinese fandom especially hard after Kris’ major criminal scandal.
Influencer Si Xiaodi posted on social media on July 6, claiming she had a sexual relationship with Luhan. It came after her January claims that she had been involved with more than 10 popular male celebrities, including Luhan, Adam Fan and Lin Gengxin.
This time, Si shared alleged chats and photos involving Luhan, reigniting speculation about his private life. Since Luhan has been publicly dating actress Guan Xiaotong since 2017, cheating rumors quickly snowballed.
Luhan’s team issued a statement the same day, demanding an end to false information and malicious defamation while stressing that they were collecting evidence and preparing legal action.
But fans were not satisfied. The agency did not directly address Si’s latest materials or specific claims, leading some to question whether the rumors could be true.
The controversy has since moved beyond Luhan’s personal life and shaken EXO’s Chinese fandom.
EXO debuted in 2012 with a Korea-China strategy, with Chinese members Kris, Luhan, Tao and Lay helping drive the group’s massive popularity in China. Kris, Luhan and Tao later left the group and moved their careers to China.
Luhan, in particular, became one of the most successful stars in China, working across music, film, dramas and variety shows. His public romance with Guan had also drawn support from fans.
But the new rumors are hitting a fandom still scarred by Kris’ downfall. Kris was arrested in 2021 after sexual assault allegations involving multiple women. In 2022, he was sentenced to 13 years in prison for rape and group licentiousness, with deportation to follow. The ruling was upheld on appeal in 2023, effectively ending his career.
Some fans say Si’s claims still need to be verified. But after Kris’ criminal scandal, Luhan’s cheating allegations have left many EXO fans in China shaken.
