Director Woo Min Ho’s newest project, Made in Korea, is making waves with its star-studded potential cast. The drama, which draws from the turbulent events of South Korea’s recent history, particularly the dramatic era of the 1970s, has already confirmed the participation of Jung Woo Sung. Meanwhile, Hyun Bin is considering taking on a leading role, adding an exciting layer of anticipation among fans.

Made in Korea is expected to be a big-budget film, with a reported production cost of around 70 billion won (approximately $52 million USD). This makes it one of the most expensive Korean films ever made.

This ambitious project is particularly noteworthy as it represents Woo Min Ho’s first venture into a TV series. The director, celebrated for his deep and insightful exploration of historical and societal themes in films like Inside Men, The Drug King, and The Man Standing Next, is expected to bring his unique vision to the small screen.

It’s worth noting that despite initial rumors suggesting Made in Korea might be a spin-off of The Drug King, these speculations have been clarified as unfounded. The drama and the film are distinct projects with no direct connection.

With a 70 billion KRW (approximately 58 million USD) budget, Made in Korea stands as a major undertaking in the industry. With Jung Woo Sung confirmed and Hyun Bin potentially on board, the drama promises not only to delve into pivotal moments of Korea’s past but also to showcase the exceptional talents of its cast. As Made in Korea sails through pre-production, the team is setting their sights on beginning filming this summer,
