In an exciting development for K-pop enthusiasts, the preliminary auditions for new members of FIFTY FIFTY were held in Singapore’s Kallang Place on the 3rd, orchestrated by the music label ATTRAKT. The event was a testament to the group’s soaring popularity, with over 120 candidates turning up to showcase their talents in singing, rapping, and dancing, as reported by local media.
Those who make the cut will be announced on the 9th. They will proceed to the final audition round in Thailand come March, where they will vie against talents from across Southeast Asia. ATTRAKT is not limiting its search to Singapore alone but is hosting auditions in multiple countries including Korea and Japan, all in an effort to reassemble FIFTY FIFTY with Keena at the forefront.
An official from ATTRAKT previously stated, “We aim to finalize the second-generation lineup by April and plan to release a new song by June.” This ambitious plan outlines a clear vision for FIFTY FIFTY’s resurgence and evolution.
Since their debut in November 2022 with the hit single “Cupid,” which made its way into the Billboard and UK Singles charts, FIFTY FIFTY has been in the limelight. However, the path has not been without its hurdles. Last June, the group faced legal challenges when an application for an injunction to suspend their exclusive contract was denied. Only Keena withdrew her lawsuit and returned to the fold. Amidst this, ATTRAKT has initiated a lawsuit against three members, Saena, Sio, and Aran, for contract termination and is seeking damages worth millions.
