Jennie shared her thoughts on launching her own agency during her guest appearance on The Seasons: Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet.
Jennie explained, “I made the decision to have more freedom and control over my personal activities. I will still be working with the same team I’ve been working with.” She added, “I named my new company Odd Atelier because I want to do well, even if my journey seems a bit weird or different to others. It’s kind of surreal sharing this for the first time publicly. I’d really appreciate a ton of support as I embark on this new journey.”
Lee Hyori responded, “When you’re inside a cage, it feels safe and warm, yet a bit cramped and confined. However, it takes a lot of courage to break free from that,” showing her respect for Jennie’s choice. The idol revealed, “I’ve been with YG since I was a trainee, and I’ve learned so much from there. One day, I asked myself, ‘What can you do on your own?’ That question made me want to face new challenges and find out what I am capable of.”
BLACKPINK will continue their group activities. Jennie reassured, “We have a strong bond with YG. Our individual labels have recently launched, and we’re just getting started. I’ll do my best.”
Regarding her plans for new albums, she shared, “Revealing my solo full-length album to the world is a dream. Setting this year as a goal, I’ll come back with good music,” promising her comeback on Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet.
