Netflix has officially announced the premiere date for its newest South Korean dystopian action film Badland Hunters, starring Ma Dong Seok.
Set in a desolate, lawless world where only the powerful rule, Badland Hunters promises an adrenaline-fueled experience as the remnants of society struggle for survival. The upcoming show marks the directorial debut of Heo Myeong Haeng, the esteemed martial arts director known for Train to Busan and The Roundup: Punishment.
The newly released image features Namsan (played by Ma Dong Seok) wielding a weapon to confront a giant crocodile.
The new trailer vividly portrays the post-apocalyptic landscape—a realm of ruins where civilization has crumbled—with the vast wilderness setting the stage for a thrilling narrative. The anticipated collaboration between global action star Ma Dong Seok and Korean action master Heo Myeong Hang adds to the spectacle of action moves, capturing the viewers’ attention.
The scene quickly transitions to Yang Gi Su (Lee Hee Joon), the sole surviving doctor in the destroyed world, wearing an enigmatic smile that raises questions about his true identity. The suspense intensifies as viewers are introduced to Namsan’s hunting partner, Ji Wan (Lee Joon Young), the resilient survivor Suna (Roh Jeong Eui), and the special forces sergeant Eun Ho (Ahn Ji Hye) in the show.
Badland Hunters will be available on January 26th.
