Source Music has spoken up about the swirling rumors implicating LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Chaewon in an ongoing drug scandal.
On October 26th, the label emphatically stated, “The rumors surrounding Kim Chaewon are absolutely untrue. She is currently recovering from the after-effects of the flu.” They added, “Kim Chaewon will return to her schedule on November 1st.”
Rumors are rife that several high-profile celebrities are entangled in a drug-gate scandal. The celebrities who are “believed” to be on the list, along with their agencies, are responding with utter disbelief. The sentiment is that even the mere mention of their names in this controversy could significantly damage their reputations. Moreover, considering the gravity of the situation, a tough stance will be taken against the false accusations.
Earlier, Lee Sun Kyun and G-Dragon were indicted on drug-related charges. The Incheon Metropolitan Police filed a charge against G-Dragon on October 25th for violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Additionally, the narcotics team filed a non-custodial charge against Lee Sun Kyun on the 24th for not only breaking the law but also for the misuse of other controlled substances, including anesthetics and sleeping pills that are typically used for medical purposes. The police believe Lee Sun Kyun has been abusing not just marijuana but also various medical drugs.
