Brave Citizen, based on a webtoon boasting a stellar 9.8 rating on NAVER Webtoon, is set to hit theaters on October 25th. The film has dropped its first teaser trailer and two character posters that scream intrigue and action.
The film follows the tale of a temporary teacher, So Shi Min (played by Shin Hye Sun), who lives by a policy of non-confrontation—looking the other way when witnessing injustice, keeping her temper under wraps, and feigning a weak punch. However, things take a thrilling turn when she crosses paths with Han Su Gang (Lee Jun Young), a man with unchecked authority and a knack for evil deeds.
In the poster, So Shi Min puts on a shy smile while clutching a book. Accompanying this enigmatic image is the tagline, “Holding back has always been the easiest.” Conversely, Han Su Gang exudes malevolence while flaunting an arrogant expression, accompanied by the menacing tagline, “Listen up, I make the rules here.” The tension is palpable, setting the stage for the inevitable clash between the two.
The trailer is a tour de force, capturing the attention with So Shi Min’s electrifying high kick. A stark contrast from her previous meek demeanor, the next scene shows So Shi Min holding back her temper and acting all naive, sparking curiosity about her dual personality. Meanwhile, Brave Citizen is helmed by director Park Jin Pyo, known for his versatility in genres ranging from romance like Love Forecast to thrillers like Voice of a Murderer. Adding to the film’s pedigree are action director Heo Myung Haeng, known for his work in The Outlaw franchise, and hit music director Dalparan.
