With global attention on Netflix’s The Glory, interest in the actors who appeared in the series is also soaring. Many of them have already confirmed their upcoming projects even before the popularity of The Glory dies down.
Song Hye Kyo, who played Moon Dong Eun, a victim of school violence and a mastermind of revenge, will star in The Price of Confession (literal title). The drama follows two women involved in a murder case, and Song Hye Kyo was offered the role of art teacher Ahn Yoon Soo, whose life is turned upside down after getting accidentally caught up in the case.
Lim Ji Yeon, who gained immense popularity as the school perpetrator Park Yeon Jin in The Glory, will be playing the role of Seoul Cyber Safety Department officer Ju Hyeon in the upcoming SBS drama National Death Penalty Vote (literal title). She is also slated to feature in Kim Tae Hee’s highly-anticipated comeback project titled A House With A Yard (literal title), portraying the role of Sang Eun, a character that stirs up confusion when she appears in front of Joo Ran (Kim Tae Hee), who grows suspicious of her husband in their new home.
Lee Do Hyun, who portrayed Dong Eun’s advocate Yeo Jung in The Glory, a man with inner pain despite being born as the son of a hospital director and growing up in a privileged environment, is set to appear both on the small and big screens. He will star alongside Ra Mi Ran in the new JTBC dramaThe Good Bad Mother and will make his big screen debut in the movie The Unearthed Grave (literal title).
Park Sung Hoon, who delivered a chilling performance as Jeon Jae Jun in The Glory, is set to appear in the Disney Plus original series Strangers (literal title), based on a webtoon of the same name. The show follows the story of the fun and witty cohabitation between a reckless mother and her cool-headed daughter. Park Sung Hoon will play the role of Jae Won, who gets demoted to the chief of a police substation and will show delightful chemistry with Choi Sooyoung.
Jung Sung Il, who played Park Yeon Jin’s husband Ha Do Young, is currently considering a role in Park Chan Wook’s Netflix action movie Jeon, Ran (literal title), set against the backdrop of the Imjin War, alongside Kang Dong Won and Park Jung Min.
Cha Joo Young will appear in KBS’ weekend drama The Real Deal as the elegant secretary Jang Se Jin. Meanwhile, Kim Hieora is set to appear in tvN’s The Uncanny Counter 2, scheduled to premiere in July, playing the role of evil spirit Gelli.
You should also keep an eye on the actors who made a splash with their performances as the younger versions of lead characters. Shin Ye Eun, who played the young Park Yeo Jin, is returning to the small screen with SBS’s The Secret Romantic Guesthouse, which premieres on the 20th. She is also in talks to lead the upcoming series Jeong Nyeon (literal title). Jung Ji So, who played the young Moon Dong Eun, is getting ready for the release of her new movie with Ma Dong Seok, Holy Night: Demon Hunters.
