The Fabulous (11/4)

Netflix is about to present us with two new Korean dramas in November. The Fabulous, starring Chae Soo Bin and SHINee’s Minho, will kick off by telling the story of four best friends chasing their dreams while juggling demanding jobs, romantic dilemmas and wild nights in the fashion industry. It looks like the drama’s success will ultimately depend on whether or not it will successfully capture youthful romance and fashion all at once. Producer Kim Jung Hyun once revealed that he decided to create the show because he got fascinated by the script of its beautiful and nonchalant story, which was different from that of other existing rom-com.

Call My Agent! (11/7)

Call My Agent! is an office comedy series based on the hit French series of the same name that captures the fierce struggles of top stars and their managers. The upcoming series boasts an exciting topic of talent management and a star-studded cast of Lee Seo JinKwak Sun YoungSeo Hyun Woo, and Joo Hyun Young. However, the cultural difference between France and South Korea may act as a variable in the show’s success since the two countries share very different customs and sentiments. Considering that Sh**ting Stars, which was about a similar theme, didn’t do well on the small screen, the show’s success will ultimately be determined when it airs.

Revenge of Others (11/9)

Disney Plus is also planning to showcase two new dramas in November. The first in line will be a teenage thriller series titled Revenge of Others, starring young, promising actors. It follows a female shooting athlete named Chan Mi (played by Shin Ye Eun) who sets out to uncover the truth about her twin brother’s suspicious death. Driven by a need to understand what happened, she partners up with another student named Su Heon (Lomon) to exact revenge by proxy on those who bully others. Although there have been numerous thriller series thus far, this time, it will be the teens leading the story. Curiosity is rising whether or not All of Us Are Dead actor Lomon will successfully boost the drama’s popularity.

The First Responders (11/11)

The First Responders tells the story of the joint response from the police, firefighters, and paramedics. The drama showcases the teamwork between the police and the fire department, which is rarely seen in South Korean dramas, and has a production plan of producing the series into multiple seasons. All eyes are on whether many eager drama fans will welcome this new and bold attempt. Kim Rae WonSon Ho Jun, and Gong Seung Yeon will be starring in the series.

Reborn Rich (11/18)

Song Joong Ki, who enjoyed hit after hit through Space Sweepers and Vincenzo, is making his drama comeback a year after his latest project. Based on a webtoon of the same name, Reborn Rich is about a secretary of a chaebol family who is reborn as the family’s youngest son during the turbulent 80s. Expectations are high on whether the series will bring back the drama heydays for JTBC, as it is confirmed to air three episodes a week.

Somebody (11/18)

The second project coming to Netflix in November will be Somebody. The series follows four people caught in a web of murder and crime involving a dating app. On Your Wedding Day star Kim Young Kwang will transform into a serial killer and showcase a dark and cold-hearted side that he hasn’t shown before. When the series premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, viewers dubbed the series as “a whole new discovery of Kim Young Kwang.” Expectations are rising about the actor’s new role in the upcoming series.

Weak Hero Class 1 (11/18)

Park Ji Hoon is back in a school uniform, but he is different this time. He will play a model high school student named Yeon Si Eun who is dark, cynical and keeps his distance from others. Weak Hero Class 1 follows the growth of Yeon Si Eun as he faces off against wrongful violence and newcomers at his school. The cartoonish element from the original webtoon blends well with the show’s realistic story, and various action scenes will please the eyes of viewers.

Please Send a Fan Letter (11/26)

Please Send a Fan Letter draws the romance between an actress (Choi Soo Young) who faces the biggest crisis in her entertainment career and a man who strives to protect his daughter’s pure heart by writing fake replies to her fan letters. The drama’s script received rave reviews at the MBC’s Drama Script Contest last year for its sensible and refreshing plot, leading it to get a four-episode series.

Based on a webtoon of the same name, Unlike the Boss is a series about an entrepreneur who becomes trapped in a smartphone after getting involved in a mysterious incident and a job-seeker who gets his hands on the phone. With its intriguing setting of a man’s soul being trapped in a smartphone, all eyes are on whether the new series will impress the original fans or not. Chae Jong HyupPark Sung Woong, and Seo Eun Su will star in the series.

I Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything (TBA)

Seolhyun and Yim Si Wan are returning with a relaxing slice-of-life drama. Helmed by Lee Yoon Jung behind Coffee Prince and Cheese in the TrapI Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything follows a man and a woman who move to a small town near the coast to discover themselves by simply living a minimalist lifestyle. The recently released teaser shares a glimpse of the beautiful scenery of the seaside village, adding hype to the upcoming series.

Casino (TBA)

Casino is a crime thriller series starring two major actors: My Liberation Notes and The Roundup star Son Suk Ku, and veteran actor Choi Min Sik. It follows the turbulent life story of a man who was once dubbed the ‘king of the casino.’ Choi Min Sik plays Cha Mu Sik, who has lived an incredibly dynamic life, and Son Suk Ku plays Oh Seung Hoon, a cop who is eager to hunt him down. Just like how Narco-Saints made Netflix rebound with its Korean drama series, expectations are growing for Casino to bring a positive result for Disney Plus.
