G-Dragon and Jennie garnered attention as they both sat down for an interview with Elle.

On October 25th, Elle Korea released a video interview of G-Dragon, Jennie, Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Park Seo Joon and Lee Sung Kyung on its official YouTube channel.

The video had Jennie answering questions related to ‘icons’ which was the topic of their newest editorial. She said, “I think an icon is a person who has strong opinions and thoughts. Instead of telling stories that everyone likes to hear, I think someone could be called an icon if they have the ability to raise questions based on their own perspectives.”

When asked about what kind of an icon she is, she answered, “I think I am an icon of memories. I’d love to be an icon that does not just represent an era but is remembered long over time.”

To the same questions, G-Dragon replied, “I think an icon is someone that has influence beyond the times,” and, “When I think about my role models or the figures that I was influenced by a lot, one should have some degree of persistence. But that does not mean that the one should only persist in one’s own thoughts and things. They must continue to look ahead of time, accept what they need to quickly, and have their own colors.”

Regarding the ‘rules’ that made him who he is today, he shared, “Having no rule is my rule. Stereotypes, this must be this, that must be that… that could be right, sometimes. But for me, I think I was fortunate that I had many opportunities to get off the standard with both music and fashion.”
