Kim Min Jae and Kim Hyang Gi have a first fateful encounter in the upcoming drama Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist.
On the 21st, Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist released still photos of Kim Min Jae (Yoo Se Poong) and Kim Hyang Gi (Seo Eun Woo). The series tells the story of Yoo Se Poong, a genius doctor who can’t perform acupuncture, becoming the real “mind doctor” upon meeting eccentric widow Seo Eun Woo and an oddball doctor Gye Ji Han.
There is a great interest in Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo’s “salvation” narrative. The released photos capture the fateful first encounter at a cliff. Yoo Se Poong was the best and the most-favored acupuncturist in the palace until he lost everything. When Seo Eun Soo finds him walking toward the cliff, she takes the risk to save him.
Seo Eun Woo was married off and even was on the verge of involuntarily becoming the “widow who vowed never to marry again.” After meeting Yoo Se Poong, she’ll undergo a dramatic change. These two, who are swamped by despair, remind each other of the “reason to live.”
Kim Min Jae described the relationship between the two as “the North Star.” He explained, “They give each other hope when they’ve lost the ways of their hearts.” Kim Hyang Gi chose the word “soulmate” and commented, “They give strength to each other to see the world more lovingly.”
Meanwhile, Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist will premiere on August 1st at 10:30 PM KST.
