BLACKPINK’s Jennie is drawing lots of attention for her appearance on HBO Series The Idol.
On July 18th, HBO unveiled a three-minute teaser titled The Idol | Official Teaser | HBO on its official YouTube Channel.
The idol made a brief appearance in two scenes and was captured dancing beside Lily-Rose Depp. The video also caught many viewers’ attention as many stars were sighted wearing very revealing clothes, and some of fans expressed their disappointment with Jennie’s short screen time in the trailer.
After watching the newly released teaser, fans left angry comments, writing, “Is Jennie making a cameo appearance?,” “I hope Jennie plays a bigger role in her debut series” and “I am deeply disappointed that she is not leading the series.” However, some showed their excitement, stating, “I will definitely watch the show as she is starring in it.”
The Weeknd will be both producing and starring in the upcoming project. Set against the backdrop of the music industry, The Idol depicts the complicated romance between a rising pop star and a cult leader. The star-studded cast includes The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, BLACKPINK’s Jennie and more.
The upcoming show is set to be released sometime this year.
