KBS2’s Monday-Tuesday drama Bloody Heart kicked off with strong premiere ratings.
This fictional historical drama tells the story of King Lee Tae (played by Lee Joon), who has to abandon the woman he loves to survive, and Yoo Jung (Kang Hanna), who has to become the queen in order to survive.
According to Nielsen Korea, the May 2 premiere of Bloody Heart scored an average nationwide rating of 6.3 percent, recording a significant rise from what Crazy Love saw (4.6 percent) on its final episode.
In the first episode, King Lee Tae, who struggles to keep his throne, encounters once-crown princess Yoo Jung, who ends up living alone as the daughter of the traitor. The story quickly developed from their first encounter to their heartbreaking parting.
Yoo Jung is a clever and lively woman who happens to be the daughter of Yoo Hak Soo (Seung Yeon Jo), a powerful aristocrat who often challenged the king and the royal family. Her charms were enough to captivate the crown prince’s heart on their first encounter, but Park Gye Won (Jang Hyuk) plots a scheme to wipe out her whole family, and she alone gets to survive with the help of Lee Tae.
Reports say that its sophisticated cinematography, fast-paced plot, and actors’ brilliant acting have kept many viewers’ eyes glued to the screen.
