Will Jung Hae In join KBS’s new drama A Tree Dies Standing Up (literal title)?
On Monday, Sports Chosun reported that Jung Hae In has joined the production of A Tree Dies Standing Up. To which the actor’s agency FNC Entertainment responded, “He was offered a role. But we’re nowhere near making a decision.”
A Tree Dies Standing Up tells the story of a theater actor who acts as the grandson of an elderly woman from the North to fulfill her final wish. If Jung Hae In appears in the project, he’ll play Bae Dong Jae, Samwoo Group’s heir. Everything about Bae Dong Jae screams that he was born into a wealthy family. There’s a solid logic and conviction in his words that people may think of him as impolite but not absurd.
Previously, Youn Yuh Jung and Kang Ha Neul have officially joined the production to play the elderly woman and theater actor, respectively. On top of that, Son Ye Jin and Sung Dong Il were also offered major roles, raising expectations for a star-studded cast.
Meanwhile, A Tree Dies Standing Up is directed by River Where the Moon Rises and King Maker: The Change of Destiny director Yoon Sang Ho and penned by Hitman: Agent Jun and Midnight Runners writer Jo Seong Geol.
