Ma Dong Seok is returning as Gilgamesh.
According to a Starnews report on the 1st, Ma Dong Seok, aka Don Lee, will leave for the States this summer and shoot a new Marvel movie.
After completing his schedule in Korea in the first half of 2022, including filming The Wilderness (working title) and promoting his new movies, the actor will leave the country to work with Marvel again. However, it’s not certain if the movie he’ll be filming is the sequel of Eternals or a whole new Marvel movie.
Last year, Ma Dong Seok appeared in Eternals as Gilgamesh and received great love. At the time, he said in an interview with a Korean reporter, “I think I’ll be able to continue working with Marvel.”
Yet, with his disappointing short screen time in Eternals, questions about whether Ma could join MCU Phase Four have been raised. Ma Dong Seok has kept silent on this issue. But it was previously reported that Ma Dong Seok has signed a contract with Marvel to appear in several more Marvel movies as Gilgamesh. Moreover, Gilgamesh is an immortal being with tremendous power and healing powers, expectations for his return have been high among fans.
