PSY’s global megahit “Gangnam Style” has reached another historic milestone, officially crossing the 6 billion-view mark on YouTube.
First uploaded on July 15th, 2012, the music video hit 6 billion views on July 17, 2026. This incredible feat comes just two years and seven months after it reached 5 billion views in December 2023.
“Gangnam Style” is widely credited with introducing K-pop to the global mainstream. Back in December 2012, it made history as the very first YouTube video to break 1 billion views. It also dominated the U.S. charts, holding the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven consecutive weeks.
PSY celebrated the achievement live with fans during his “Summer Swag 2026” tour. At his July 18th concert in Gwacheon, the star took the stage wearing the iconic light blue jacket and black bow tie from the original music video. “I’ll be uploading this performance to YouTube as a special 6-billion-view thank-you video,” he marked the moment alongside thousands of cheering attendees.
PSY’s signature annual tour, “PSY Summer Swag 2026,” kicked off on June 27th at Uijeongbu Stadium. After making stops in Daegu, Incheon and Gwacheon, the 14-show tour will continue across nine cities—including Wonju, Suwon, Gwangju and Busan—before wrapping up in Daejeon on August 23rd.
