On the 13th, Kim Young Dae shared his thoughts about finishing a year-long journey with The Penthouse: War in Life.

In the drama, Kim played Joo Suk Hoon, a boy who bears the burden of being the son of vicious Joo Dan Tae (Uhm Ki Joon). However, breaking apart from his father’s grasp, he managed to pioneer his own destiny, impressing the viewers. At the same time, his romance with Bae Ro Na (Kim Hyun Soo) had allowed the viewers heart-fluttering moments amid the chaotic story.

What was his favorite scene among all three seasons? Kim chose the scene where Joo Suk Kyung, Shim Soo Ryun, and Joo Suk Hoon recalled the happy days in the penthouse’s living room. “My heart felt strange as the happy moments of the past kept flooding in,” he said. “As there were many tragic deaths, the happy moments feel even more precious.”

As for the scene that shocked him the most, the actor chose the scene where Shim Soo Ryun threw herself off the cliff. “I was so shocked when I read the script. I assimilated Suk Hoon’s emotions, so I was shocked when I read the scene,” he explained.

Kim commented, “The most memorable episode is when we all hugged and encouraged each other during the last filming. I was touched, and it felt warm. I grew close with senior actors and Hera Kids. It was a moment when I realized that I got to work in a good environment.”

Lastly, he thanked the viewers for all the love they showed. “I would like to thank you for enjoying this precious work that allowed me lots of cheers even when I still have so much to learn. I will show good performance in my next drama ‘Shooting Star.’”
