Soyou Asks Lee Hyori for Advice while Working on Her New Song

Singer Soyou has revealed the behind-the-scenes of working for her new song.

She uploaded a vlog titled ‘Seven Days Before the Release of Soyou’s New Song! (Feat. Hyori, Babylon)’ on her official YouTube channel ‘SOYOUGI’ on the 4th.

The singer was seen to head to Babylon’s studio to work on the new song’s guide. After several recordings, she sent a verse to Lee Hyori, who texted her words of praises saying, “Your voice is so pretty, it’s so satisfying to hear.” Soyou later went into a meeting with her fellow song producers to shorten the song and tried to call Lee Hyori for advice.

When asked what to do with the long song, Lee Hyori gave a clear answer saying, “Cut it,” and told her that there will be no huge problem as the lyrics of the first and second verses are the same. “You have to go as you, the artist, want and make it feel good, something catchy,” she said while encouraging and advising Soyou on her lyrics.

Meanwhile, Soyou is to make a comeback in eight months with a song that Lee Hyori and Babylon worked together. The song is to drop at 6 p.m. KST on the 11th. Expectations are high on what kind of work Lee Hyo Ri and Babylon has produced, especially as the prior has experience in writing, composing, and producing K-RnB songs.
