Will Brave Girls Be the Next EXID?

Brave Girls is following the footsteps of EXID. Will this four-member girl group be able to rise to atop just like them?

On March 2, Brave Girls’ “Rollin” blasted into the No. 1 spot on music charts such as BUgs and Genie Music. This was achieved only 4 days after the song entered the chart for the first time on Feb 26. The song is also ranked 11th on the Melon 24 Hits chart.

“Rollin'” is the title track of the Brave Girls’ fourth mini-album released in March 2017. At that time, some scenes from the music video were branded too racy and the group had difficulty in continuing their promotions. Though they released a clean version of the song the following year, it failed to achieve any significant result.

This is the first time that Brave Girls’ name was seen on music charts. And this is all thanks to one video posted on the youtube channel “VIDITOR.” The 3-minute clip titled “Brave Girls_Rollin_comments collection” went viral and garnered 4 million views within a week of its release.

Brave Girls’ “climbing up the chart” sensation started to remind netizens of EXID. EXID rose to stardom after Hani’s “Up and Down” stage fancam video gained huge popularity in 2014. Another thing these two videos have in common is that they were both filmed at morale-boosting concerts (for soldiers).

While the interest in Brave Girls continues to grow, attention is focusing on whether they can make a leap forward into the new trendy K-pop group like EXID.
