After much discussion, CJ ENM decided not to show Wanna One’s joint performance.
An official from CJ ENM confirmed, “We had been discussing Wanna One’s performance at the 2020 MAMA, but after much discussion, we decided to call off the project.” Then he added, “We will always support Wanna One.”
Mnet reportedly suggested to each agency that Wanna One members gather in one place for the first time in a long time to perform in MAMA, although Wanna One members are actively working as soloists or members of their respective group since the disbandment. It seemed like Mnet was going to push ahead with Wanna One’s performance even after the court released the names of victims from the Produce 101 series vote manipulation. However, with the growing criticisms against their shameless actions, Mnet has decided to step back.
Meanwhile, CJ ENM will host 2020 MAMA on December 6. This year’s lineup includes BTS, TWICE, SEVENTEEN, NCT, MAMAMOO, MONSTA X, TXT and more.
