In connection with the case in which Park Ji Sun was found dead with her mother at her home yesterday, the suicide note, which is believed to have been left by the mother was found.

Yesterday, Park Ji Sun’s father reported to the police that he could not reach either his wife or his daughter, and he and the officers visited Park Ji Sun’s house and discovered the two lying motionless, around 1:44 pm KST. Park Ji Sun was being treated for her illness, and her mother reportedly moved to Seoul and stayed with her.

At the scene, a one-page suicide note was left behind, presumably written by Park Ji Sun’s mother. In it, she wrote, “My daughter was suffering from a skin disease, and recently, her condition worsened in the course of treating other illnesses. I can’t let my daughter go alone. I’m sorry for my husband.” Park Ji Sun once said in an interview in 2014 that she is suffering from a “sun allergy” that causes itching or rashes when exposed to sunlight, and that he cannot even put on any makeup because her skin got so sensitive.

Park Ji Sun underwent an operation on October 23. On the day of the surgery, she told Sports Chosun on the phone, “I decided to have the surgery today. It’s a small operation, so you don’t have to worry. I will focus on recovering next month.” Since then, she has halted all activities and declined the offers, saying that she is not feeling well.

Currently, police suspect that the mother and daughter committed suicide by taking poison as the investigation showed no evidence of foul plays.

Park Ji Sun debuted as a comedian in 2007 and became a mainstay on Gag Concert. She also worked as MC in various events, including showcases and press conferences for films, entertainment shows and dramas. She won Excellence Award and Top Excellence Award in comedy at the KBS Entertainment Awards in 2008 and 2010.
