Kakao M announced that Kim Yo Han, So Joo Yeon, and Yeo Hoe Hyun have confirmed their appearances in the original digital drama To Beautiful Us (literal translation).
To Beautiful Us is a youth romance drama surrounding cheerful high school girl Shin Sol Yi and her 17 years-old childhood friend Cha Heon who lives next door. It is the Korean remake of the famous Chinese drama A Love So Beautiful.
The original Chinese drama gained explosive popularity with 3.7 billion views when it was aired in 2017, and it was also released in Korea via Netflix, creating a buzz. It will be made as the original drama of Kakao M Digital and produced in 24 episodes, about 20 minutes each.
Kim Yo Han will play Cha Heon, a 17-year-old perfect boy who is handsome and smart. He seems like a cold-hearted man with an indifferent expression, but the truth is, he is simply not good at expressing his feelings.
As soon as the news of Kim Yo Han receiving the offer came out, netizens praised the perfect “synchronization rate” between the original character and Kim Yo Han.
So Joo Yeon plays the role of Shin Sol Yi, a refreshing high school girl who has had a crush on Cha Heon for 17 years, leading the heart-fluttering romance. Shin Sol Yi is an outspoken and “straight forward” girl who confesses her love to Cha Heon whenever she has time. She might be clumsy, but is cheerful and optimistic character who always spreads positive energy around her.
Yeo Hoe Hyun plays Woo Dae Sung, an aspiring swimmer who falls in love with Shin Sol Yi after transferring to the same school.
The production team said, “The fresh, exciting and comical romance of 17-years-old boys and girls will tickle our hearts and summon memories of our first love,“ and added, ”Please look forward to the Korean version of A Love So Beautiful, which will be recreated into a version that match out time and culture.“
