‘Parasite’ Becomes the First South Korean Film to Earn an Oscar Nomination for Best Picture

They made history!!

The movie ‘Parasite’, after its many wins in various film awards and ceremonies, have made history by becoming the first South Korean film to be nominated for an Oscar.

‘Parasite’ received a couple nominations, including best picture and best international film, that helped further acknowledge the movie as one of the best of 2019 after its recent wins from both the Cannes Film Festival and Critic’s Choice Awards.

The film was also nominated for film editing for Jinmo Yang, a production design nomination for Lee Ha Jun and Cho Won Woo, best director for Bong Joon Ho, also a nomination for original screenplay with Jin Won Han.

The 92nd Academy Awards will take place on February 9, 2020 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.
