After years of anticipation, Song Joong Ki shared his heartfelt thoughts on the first screening of Bogota: City of the Lost.

On October 3rd, Bogota premiered at Lotte Cinema Centum City as part of the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in the “Korean Cinema Today – Special Premiere” section. During the post-screening Q&A, Song Joong Ki expressed his excitement, saying, “I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long—multiply that by 20,000 times.”

The Bogota team, including Song Joong Ki, attended the premiere together, adding even more significance to the event. Reflecting on the difficult filming process, he shared, “This was not an easy project. The shoot was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, so it’s more dear to me.”

Talking about how he first got involved with Bogota, Song Joong Ki said, “I had already committed to ‘Space Sweepers’ when I received the script. At first glance, I thought it was just a simple story about conflicts among Korean immigrants who settled abroad during the IMF era.” But after watching the film for the first time with the audience, he added, “We all saw the movie together for the first time today, and I didn’t realize how deep the emotions were. It hit me even harder than when I first read the script, so I feel a bit emotional.”

Bogota: City of the Lost is set in Colombia, where a group of Koreans, who have lost hope in life, dive into the dangerous world of smuggling to survive. After its world premiere at BIFF, the film is set for a theatrical release later this year.
