MBC’s True Story Expedition will track the recent days of the actor Lim Young Gyu in their broadcast.
Today’s episode of True Story Expedition highlights Lim Young Gyu’s turbulent post-divorce life from actress Kyeon Mi Ri in the 80s, detailing numerous incidents that have kept him in the spotlight. Recently, Lim showed a different side on a broadcast, garnering public support. However, someone is stepping forward to accuse him.
In a pre-released video titled “I Want to Accuse My Father Lim Young Gyu,” the show captures Lim Young Gyu’s peak in the 1980s, where he won a Best New Actor award. The informant revealed, “My mother left home after meeting Lim Young Gyu.”
The show also released a phone recording of Lim Young Gyu saying, “Celebrity XX talked to Lee Seung Gi about. So I should get some money from that punk too,” further intensifying the controversy.
The informant disclosed further that his mother, who raised three children alone for 25 years, sent Lim Young Gyu around 200 million KRW (approx. 150,000 USD) across 265 transactions over a year. The mother’s pleas for the money back were allegedly met with Lim Young Gyu saying, “Lee Seung Gi might settle it,” drawing attention.
Lim Young Gyu, the biological father of actresses Lee Yoo Bi and Lee Da In, married actress Kyeon Mi Ri in 1987 but divorced after six years. Born into wealth, Lim Young Gyu lost his 16.5 billion KRW (approx. 12.3 million USD) fortune within two and a half years due to business failures and extravagant living, as he previously admitted on a broadcast. Known for ongoing legal issues, including assaulting an assistant director, he has a record of nine convictions.
The episode aims to uncover why Lim Young Gyu mentioned Lee Seung Gi, who is married to his estranged daughter Lee Da In, and to explore Lim’s current situation.
