Netflix is producing the popular webtoon Sweet and Sour Chicken to a drama series titled Chicken Nugget.
Chicken Nugget is a comedy thriller series. One day, a girl named Min Ah walks into a mysterious machine and turns into a chicken nugget. The drama follows the struggles of Sun Man, Min Ah’s father, to get her daughter back. Netflix announced the cast today – Ryu Seung Ryong, Ahn Jae Hong, and Kim Yoo Jung, who’ll be making a special appearance.
For this new project, Netflix joins hands with Lee Byung Heon, whose credits include the movies Twenty and Extreme Job and the TV series Be Melodramatic. This is the second time both Ryu Seung Ryong and Ahn Jae Hong will work with Lee Byung Heon. Ryu Seung Ryong and Ahn Jae Hong each starred in Extreme Job and Be Melodramatic.
Ryu Seung Ryong steps into the role of Choi Sun Man, the president of a company that produces machines. When his daughter turns into a chicken nugget after stepping into one of the machines, he goes all out to find a way to turn her back into a human. Ahn Jae Hong plays a whimsical intern Go Baek Joong who has a crush on the president’s daughter. He’ll also be looking for every possible way to turn her back into a human.
Kim Yoo Jung makes a special appearance as Choi Min Ah, Sun Man’s daughter. She turns into a chicken nugget after stepping into a machine she thought was a fatigue recovery machine.
Meanwhile, it was reported last month that Cha Eun Woo was also considering his appearance in the series.
