Shin Ye Eun is in talks to star opposite Cha Eun Woo in the upcoming drama Seorabeol Knife (literal title), amid conflicting reports over whether Mun Ka Young will join the project.
On October 19th, Studio Dragon confirmed to StarNews, “We have offered Shin Ye Eun a role, and she is currently reviewing it.”
The news follows a previous report that Mun Ka Young had turned down an offer to star in the series. However, Studio Dragon disputed suggestions that her casting was no longer under consideration.
“It is true that we offered her a role, and discussions regarding her participation are still ongoing,” the company told TenAsia.
Mun had previously been linked to the drama as a potential female lead opposite Cha, raising the possibility of a reunion seven years after the pair starred together in the 2020 tvN romance True Beauty.
Seorabeol Knife is a time-slip romance combining cooking and historical fantasy, following an Italian chef known as the “Temptation of the Mediterranean” and a princess destined to become the “Sun of Seorabeol.”
The series will be directed by Chang Tae Yoo, whose credits include tvN’s Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. Discussions are underway for a potential tvN broadcast in 2027.
Cha, who is currently serving in the military and is scheduled to be discharged in January 2027, has been considering the project as a possible post-military return. His casting has not been officially finalized.
