Park Jin Young has graced the November cover of fashion and lifestyle magazine Cosmopolitan.

Released on October 19th, the photoshoot took place shortly after the premiere of his drama 100 Days of Deception. Park Jin Young shared his hopes for the drama in the interview after the photoshoot.

“My biggest hope is that many people will love the drama. I still have strong feelings about filming it. I’m happy to hear people praise the cast’s chemistry, and now that the drama is out and viewers can enjoy it, I feel relieved,” he said.

Park Jin Young plays a character who navigates between two names—Sato Hideo, the adopted son of Chief Secretary Sato Shinichi (played by Jin Sun Kyu), and Kim Tae Woong, a newly appointed interpreter—in 100 Days of Deception. He also shared how he approached expressing the subtle differences between these two identities.

“I wanted Tae Woong to remain a mystery at first. When I read the script, I pictured him as a quiet, mysterious figure who works behind the scenes for his father. I kept my movements and facial expressions subtle, even when his emotions changed,” he explained.

Park Jin Young also shared what viewers should look out for in upcoming episodes. He said the story goes beyond Hideo’s transformation into Tae Woong and explores how Ga Kyung(Kim Yoo Jung) changes as she navigates life within the Japanese Government-General of Korea.

“The drama is set in 1932, when Korea was under Japanese colonial rule. Tae Woong and Ga Kyung were both born and raised during this time, so their choices are limited. Tae Woong, in particular, struggles with his identity and wonders whether he is Korean or Japanese,” he said.

“I hope viewers will feel things that they may have understood only in their minds before as they find their own reasons to protect their country. Although the story takes place in the past, I think it can still relate to our lives today.”

Beyond acting, Park Jin Young continues to pursue his music career. He recently released his second solo mini-album and launched his first solo concert tour.

When asked what motivates him to keep working in both music and acting, he said, “We don’t always need a reason to do what we do, right? I found it enjoyable as I went along; I like this work, and there are people who listen to my music and watch my performances. That’s how I’ve made it this far.”

He also shared one of his future goals: learning to play the piano well.

“I love the sound of the piano, and I think it looks beautiful when someone plays it. I want to become a cool older man who can play at least one instrument really well,” he said.
