The 2005 cult vampire sitcom Hello, Francesca is getting a new spinoff, Francesca Next Door, set to premiere exclusively on Korean streaming platform Wavve on November 6th.
The series reimagines the original show’s premise of vampires living secretly among humans as a high school romance. Han Su A stars as Pi Na Young, a vampire struggling to adapt to human society, while Kim Hyun Jin plays Jang Woo Joo, a model student and class president who becomes her unlikely love interest.
Original cast members Shim Hye Jin, Park Seul Gi and Park Hee Jin will make special appearances.
The newly released teaser poster shows Na Young holding a finger to her lips against a purple backdrop, accompanied by the tagline, “A vampire disguised as an ordinary human arrives at school.”
In the teaser, Na Young’s butler Yoo Young Woo urgently calls out, “Miss Francesca, you need to go to school!” Disguised under the Korean name Pi Na Young, she arrives as a transfer student, where class president Woo Joo is assigned by their homeroom teacher, Jung Seung Je, to help her settle in.
As Woo Joo becomes increasingly involved in her life, fellow vampire Yoo Hyeol (Lee Seung Gyu) warns Na Young, “Don’t get too involved with humans.” Despite the warning, Woo Joo volunteers to guide her through school, setting the stage for a forbidden romance between a human and a vampire.
Francesca Next Door premieres November 6th exclusively on Wavve.
