Park Bo Gum, Kim You Jung, Jinyoung, Chae Soo Bin and Kwak Dong Yeon proved their friendship is still going strong nearly a decade after Love in the Moonlight.
On September 14th, ELLE Korea released a new “Chemistry Workshop” video featuring the five stars, who reunited ahead of the drama’s 10th anniversary and also posed for a photo shoot together.
Asked to rate their chemistry after 10 years, the cast gave wildly different answers. Kwak Dong Yeon chose 20 points, Chae Soo Bin gave them 1,000, Park Bo Gum 99, Kim You Jung 9,999 and Jinyoung simply wrote “infinity.”
Explaining his 99, Park said, “It’s 99 out of 100. It will finally become 100 when all the staff members who worked with us can get together too.”
The cast also reflected on how little their dynamic has changed over the years. Kim compared the reunion to seeing an old school friend and immediately feeling transported back in time.
“You’ve obviously grown since then, but when you meet again, it feels like those same innocent feelings from back then come rushing back,” she said.
Park then teased Kwak about how openly fond of him he had been during filming. “Back then, Dong Yeon was really fond of me. He’d always call me ‘Bo Gum hyung,'” he recalled.
Kwak quickly fired back, “You couldn’t say things like this before, but now you just say whatever you want.” Jinyoung jokingly added, “He’s been corrupted.”
The group also cleared up stories that have circulated online about the cast hanging out together, including claims that they had visited an escape room and played a childhood territory game by the Han River.
Park denied the escape-room story, saying, “I don’t think we’ve ever done an escape room together. That’s a false rumor.”
The Han River story, however, was true.
“We really did play the territory game like a bunch of kids,” Kim recalled, while Chae added, “We were running around like actual elementary schoolers.”
Park explained that there had been a designated area by the Han River where people could play the game at the time, confirming that the unusual fan sighting was indeed real.
