Park Bo Gum, Kim You Jung, Jinyoung, Chae Soo Bin and Kwak Dong Yeon are coming together for the September special issue of Elle Korea.
The five Love in the Moonlight stars reunited for the drama’s 10th anniversary, recreating its timeless atmosphere in a traditional Korean setting while reflecting on the lasting impact of the beloved K-drama.
Park Bo Gum, who won hearts as Crown Prince Lee Yeong, shared his excitement about reuniting with the cast. “Everyone looks just the same as when we first met. I’m so happy to wear hanbok again and capture this moment. The weather is even similar to when we were filming back then. Back then too, we couldn’t stop laughing whenever we were together.”
Reflecting on the drama’s significance, he said, “I was happy to act wearing beautiful traditional hanbok surrounded by picturesque Korean scenery that perfectly captured the essence of Korea. Playing Crown Prince Hyomyeong, who was talented not only in politics but also in literature, music and dance, was also a special experience. Above all, it’s an honor as an actor that people still remember the characters’ names even after 10 years.”
When asked what Lee Yeong means to his acting career, Park Bo Gum recalled a line from Kim Yoo Jung’s character and said, “Who knew that the memory of being loved would be the strength to live a lifetime?” He added, “Thanks to everyone who loved Lee Yeong, I’ve been able to move forward with that strength until now.”
He also shared a heartfelt message for his former co-stars, saying, “Thanks to you, my youth, our youth, shone beautifully. I wish for all of us to always shine brightly like moonlight.”

Kim Yoo Jung, who played Hong Ra On at just 17, also looked back fondly on her character. “The name ‘Ra On’ itself means ‘joyful’ in pure Korean. Like her name, she was a character who shared warmth and affection with people, and the feelings I experienced through Ra On were also a deep, heartfelt warmth.”
Looking back on the past decade, she said, “I’ve gained solid strength. I now dare to face difficult situations more actively and the courage to move forward willingly.”
She also shared what she would tell her younger self, saying, “My mother once told me, ‘Enduring means you are in that place.’ ‘Enduring’ doesn’t just mean getting through tough times. It means living your life by doing what you need to do, whether times are good or bad. I want to tell my past self not to worry too much by looking too far ahead. You don’t need to rush.”
Jinyoung reflected on the quality he hopes to keep as he moves forward. He said, “I don’t want to lose my love for people. I simply like people, spending time with them, doing things together, and sharing experiences. It would be too sad if I ever stopped enjoying that.”
He also spoke about his longtime friendship with his former co-stars, saying, “Let’s stay together for a long, long time. We met through work, but it’s not easy to stay in touch, share our lives, and support each other for 10 years. I’m happy that we’ve managed to do it.”
Chae Soo Bin, who played Jo Ha Yeon, a woman who boldly chose her own path in love, said she still draws courage from her character. “Ha Yeon wasn’t someone who stayed put just because she wasn’t loved. I remember her as a courageous woman who could choose her own life and move forward,” she said.
If she could give her younger self one piece of advice, she would say, “You’re doing well, you’ll do well, and you’ll live well. I think I’ve always worked hard without much worry, but looking back, I always felt anxious. It all turns out to be nothing in the end, so I want to tell myself that I’m doing just fine.”
Kwak Dong Yeon, who recently enlisted in the military, said he would tell his 20-year-old self, who was always pushing forward, “Don’t be scared!”
He explained, “Back then, I acted in every project and every scene as if it were the last in my life. That mindset might have been too constricting. If I had been more confident, I could have shown more diverse sides of myself.”
He also sent a message to his four former co-stars, saying, “I’ll be reliably protecting the country until early 2028, so don’t worry and pursue your dreams to your heart’s content.”
Four different covers featuring Park Bo Gum, Kim Yoo Jung, Jinyoung, Chae Soo Bin and Kwak Dong Yeon, along with more photos and interviews, will be included in Elle Korea’s September special issue.

Additional YouTube and digital content featuring the five actors will also be released through Elle Korea’s social media accounts and YouTube channel.
