Former BIGBANG member Seungri has been revealed to already be legally married.
Seungri confirmed on October 28th that his wife is pregnant and expected to give birth early next year. The day before, Gray News reported that he was expecting a child with his non-celebrity girlfriend, who is in her 20s. However, the woman initially reported to be his girlfriend turned out to be his wife, as the couple had already registered their marriage.
News of the pregnancy came before the couple announced their marriage, leading to rumors that they were expecting a baby before getting married. Seungri clarified that the rumors were false. He also said, “We are not planning to have a wedding ceremony at this time.” The couple is now preparing for their baby’s arrival.
Seungri drew attention during an earlier interview with Gray News when he said, “I have a family to protect.”
Meanwhile, Seungri is facing a lawsuit over allegations that he assaulted another customer at a restaurant. The complainant claimed that Seungri and his companions assaulted and threatened him at a restaurant in Seoul’s Gangnam district in August.
Seungri has denied the allegations. On October 23rd, his attorney, Yoon Jae Bin of Soolim Law Firm, said in a statement, “It is true that he picked up a soju bottle, but he did not swing it at anyone or hit anyone with it.”
The attorney also said the complainant’s side contacted Seungri to seek a settlement after filing the complaint. However, Seungri decided to submit evidence to investigators rather than admit to actions he says he did not commit. The attorney added that Seungri believes the authorities and the court should determine the facts and that he will continue to cooperate with the investigation.
