Netflix has officially addressed speculation surrounding a potential second season for its hit Korean drama series Teach You a Lesson.
Netflix’s spokesperson responded to rumors on July 21st, clarifying to the South Korean outlet OSEN that “there are no confirmed plans for a Season 2 production.”
The statement comes after a media report claimed that executives were already in early discussions for a second installment. That report suggested that while casting details and production timelines hadn’t been finalized, early groundwork was being laid to continue the storyline. Netflix, however, maintains its cautious stance that nothing is currently set in stone.
Based on a webtoon published in English as Get Schooled, the series centers on a fictional government agency called the Education Rights Protection Bureau. Inspectors from the bureau are deployed directly into troubled classrooms to restore order in a collapsing school system.
The show became an instant hit upon release, holding down the top spot on local charts for four straight weeks. According to Netflix’s official viewership figures for the first half of 2026, Teach You a Lesson broke into the platform’s global top 10 within a month of its premiere, pulling in over 48.2 million total viewing hours.
