The long-awaited reunion of one of K-pop’s most iconic project groups is finally coming true.

SWING Entertainment officially announced on February 23rd that I.O.I will return this May with a new album to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut. The agency will exclusively manage the project, including all promotional activities and the group’s highly anticipated comeback schedule.

This is the group’s first collective activity in nine years, since their debut in early 2017. Although the members have often expressed their desire to reunite in solo interviews and public appearances, coordinating the schedules of eleven busy stars has been a challenge. However, this time, nine members—Lim Na Young, CHUNG HA, Kim Se Jeong, Jung Chae Yeon, Kim So Hye, Yeonjung, Choi Yoo Jung, Kim Do Yeon and Jeon So Mi—have cleared their schedules to make the reunion happen.

Unfortunately, the reunion will not include Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong due to scheduling conflicts.

The members of I.O.I have become successful solo artists, popular actresses and regulars on variety shows. Fans and industry experts are eager to see how their chemistry has changed after a decade of personal growth and stage experience.

I.O.I was formed in 2016 through Produce 101, and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. During their short but impactful career, they topped the charts with hits like “Dream Girls,” “Whatta Man,” “Very Very Very,” and “Downpour.” They won Best New Artist awards at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards and Seoul Music Awards, leaving a lasting mark on K-pop before their final concert in January 2017.

To celebrate their 10th anniversary, I.O.I will bring new music to their fans. The celebrations will begin with a big concert in Seoul, followed by an Asian tour. More details about the album and tour dates will be announced soon.
