BTS member Suga issued another apology regarding his electric scooter DUI incident that occurred during his alternative military service.

On his discharge day, June 21st, Suga reached out to fans through the fan platform Weverse, writing, “It’s been about two years. How has everyone been doing? I’m truly grateful to all the fans who waited for me during this time. I really missed you all.”

The rapper continued, “I’ve had time to think about myself over these two years. I felt like I needed to step back and distance myself from the work I’ve been doing for so long, to take a step away from it all,” noting how this period gave him a chance to reassess himself.

He also brought up the incident from last August, when he was caught operating an electric scooter while intoxicated. “It hurt to know that I had disappointed my fans,” he wrote. “And I felt really sorry to the members who must have felt heavy-hearted because of me.”

Suga was fined 15 million won ($10,800) for the offense through a summary order.

Meanwhile, Suga marked his return with a significant gesture of goodwill—donating 5 billion KRW (approx. 3.6 million USD) to Severance Hospital to help establish a treatment center supporting children with autism spectrum disorder and their path to independence.
