IVE has paid their respects to their young fan Kim Ha Neul, who passed away tragically at the age of 8 on February 10th.
The memorial service for Kim Ha Neul was held yesterday, where IVE sent a memorial flower arrangement to honor their young fan. IVE’s photo cards were placed in front of the memorial portrait, showing the young girl’s devotion to the group.
The father revealed, “Ha Neul’s dream was to be like Jang Wonyoung,” adding that “She would always watch any TV shows featuring Wonyoung live, even if it meant staying up late. She loved her so much.”
The memorial service was attended by family, relatives, and mourners paying their respects.
Ha Neul’s father made an emotional appeal, stating, “The government must create a law, ensuring that teachers with mental health issues can receive proper treatment and support.”
Kim Ha Neul was found with stab wounds in an audiovisual room at an elementary school in Seo-gu, Daejeon, around 5:50 PM on February 10th KST. She was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest but unfortunately did not survive. The teacher who attacked the child was also present at the scene and has admitted to the crime, stating she “intended to kill any student and die together.”
The teacher had previously taken leave due to depression and returned to work last December. She reportedly had no prior connection to Kim Ha Neul. She is currently recovering from surgery, and police plan to investigate the exact motive and circumstances once her condition improves.
