Hong Min Gi has taken legal action against his former girlfriend, who has accused him of dating violence and pressuring her to have an abortion.
His agency, Fable Company, announced on August 27th that Hong Min Gi filed complaints against his former girlfriend on August 21st and 24th. The charges include forgery of private documents, attempted extortion, defamation and stalking.
“Our company and the actor intend to faithfully cooperate with the upcoming investigation process, believing that the truth and legal responsibilities in this matter will be clearly revealed through the investigation,” the agency said.
They also asked the public not to spread unverified claims before the authorities complete their investigation.
The agency also addressed the incident at Hong Min Gi’s home in Itaewon on August 23rd. According to the statement, his former girlfriend arrived at around 2 AM, repeatedly rang his doorbell, cried loudly and cursed. Police were called to the scene, and she was later taken away by ambulance after a joint response with emergency services was requested.
“In accordance with the Stalking Punishment Act, the police also issued an order on that day prohibiting her from approaching within 100 meters and from making contact via telecommunication,” the agency said.
The former girlfriend first accused Hong Min Gi of dating violence and pressuring her to have an abortion on August 19th. Hong Min Gi’s side has denied the allegations, stating, “Her claims are false.”
