Kim Ji Hoon is set to lead MBN’s upcoming drama Sigor Amor (literal title).

According to MHN Sports on July 1st, Kim has been cast as Ki Ho Tae, the male lead of the new MBN drama, which is scheduled to air next year.

Multiple production insiders told MHN Sports, “Casting for the main roles, including Kim Ji Hoon, is nearly complete, and filming is being prepared for the second half of the year.” Kim’s agency also confirmed, “He will begin filming in the second half of the year.”

Sigor Amor is a 12-episode rom-com set in a traditional market in Myeongsan County, South Chungcheong Province. The drama follows a pragmatic debt collection lawyer who has spent his life focused only on survival, until he clashes with the people of the market and begins to understand the meaning of community, love and family.

Kim will play Ki Ho Tae, a debt collection attorney with sharp judgment and a gift for words. Though he is a hard-nosed realist, he slowly learns to put people first as he helps solve various problems with the market community.

The series will portray the lives, struggles and redevelopment conflicts of traditional market merchants with a light but heartfelt touch. Through the events that unfold in the market, the drama will explore the value of community, love and family.

Sigor Amor will be directed by Yoon Sang Ho, known for KBS’s River Where the Moon Rises and tvN’s Parole Examiner Lee. The drama is currently finalizing its main cast and is set to begin filming in the second half of the year, with plans to air on MBN next year.
