DEX, who has been active on YouTube for seven years, is taking a break from his channel. However, this does not mean he is stepping away from his entertainment career.
According to OSEN on the 19th, DEX has decided to temporarily pause his YouTube channel, which has over one million subscribers, as he focuses on his acting career in the second half of the year. He reportedly found it difficult to continue balancing both acting and YouTube at the same time.
A representative told OSEN, “DEX has been busy juggling both YouTube and acting, and he felt it was difficult to continue doing both.”
DEX had previously announced the hiatus on his YouTube channel, where he has been active for seven years. He said, “In this industry, you can be forgotten in just a month or two, so this was a big decision. I didn’t take long to decide, but I was certain about it.” He added, “I’m not stopping to do nothing, but I need to focus on one direction for my future.”
He also shared, “I felt my position was a bit unclear. I realized I was involved in many areas, so I felt this year was the time to focus on one path.”
However, his representative clearly denied rumors that he is leaving the entertainment industry. “Absolutely not,” the representative said. “Because he became emotional while talking, some people may have misunderstood.”
Although details have not been fully revealed, DEX is currently preparing for a new project set to begin in the second half of the year. “He has already started working on it, so he will focus on that. We ask for understanding that this is a temporary break from YouTube to concentrate on acting,” the representative added.
Meanwhile, DEX first gained attention as a former UDT (Underwater Demolition Team) member on Toy Soldiers. He later rose to fame through shows like Game of Blood, Single’s Inferno 2 and Zombieverse. Since 2024, he has also been expanding into acting with projects such as Tarot, The Defects and Bloodhounds 2.
