Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters won Song of the Year at the 2026 American Music Awards with its featured track “Golden.”
The song was also nominated for Best Vocal Performance and Best Pop Song, while the film itself earned a nomination for Best Soundtrack.

This year’s AMAs opened with a special performance video from BTS filmed in Las Vegas. Host Jennifer Lopez introduced the clip by saying, “We’re kicking off AMA 2026 with a Las Vegas performance video from BTS, returning after four years.”
The video featured BTS performing “Hooligan” during their recent world tour at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada. After the performance video ended, the audience responded with loud cheers.

BTS once again proved their global influence by winning Artist of the Year — one of the top honors at the American Music Awards — for the second time at the ceremony held in Las Vegas on May 25th (local time).
Following the success of their 2021 English-language single “Butter,” BTS achieved another major milestone this year with their fifth studio album “ARIRANG,” which incorporates Korean cultural elements, earning the award just two months after the album’s release. BTS also won Song of the Summer at the 2026 American Music Awards with their song Swim, along with the award for Best Male K-pop Artist.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE won New Artist of the Year, Breakthrough Pop Artist, and Music Video of the Year for their hit song Gnarly at this year’s awards ceremony.
Last but not least, TWICE won Best Female K-Pop Artist. They took home their first trophy at the American Music Awards, further cementing their status as one of the leading K-pop girl groups.
