Moon Geun Young is set to make her big-screen comeback through director Yeon Sang Ho’s upcoming film.
SPOTV News reported on May 21st that Moon Geun Young has been cast in Yeon Sang Ho’s new movie, tentatively titled Yeto (literal title).
Known for his distinctive genre projects such as The Ugly, Yeon Sang Ho is expected to take on another bold challenge with the film. Distribution will be handled by Showbox, which previously worked with the director on Colony.
Moon Geun Young and Yeon Sang Ho previously collaborated on Hellbound Season 2. At the time, the actress drew global attention for her striking transformation as cult follower Oh Ji Won, marking her first acting project after a long hiatus.

Speaking about casting Moon Geun Young, Yeon Sang Ho said, “I’ve always thought she was a truly great actress. I felt that she had grown stronger and more confident over time,” adding, “I really hoped to see actress Moon Geun Young make a comeback.”
Moon Geun Young previously went through a lengthy recovery after being diagnosed with acute compartment syndrome. During the press conference for Hellbound Season 2, she addressed concerns about her health on social media, writing, “I gained weight quickly while enjoying food and life,” before reassuring fans, “I’ve fully recovered and I’m very healthy now. Instead of worrying about my health, I hope people will cheer me on for my diet success.”
Moon Geun Young is currently performing in the play Orphans, which opened in March. Although she briefly appeared in director Shin Su Won’s film The Birth of Love, which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival last year, Yeto will mark her first major film role in about nine years since the 2017 movie Glass Garden.
