Prosecutors have requested a 10-year prison sentence for a man in his 30s accused of breaking into Nana’s home.
During the final hearing held at the Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court, prosecutors asked the court to sentence the defendant to 10 years in prison on charges including robbery and assault.
Prosecutors stated, “The defendant entered the victim’s home with a weapon and inflicted injuries,” adding, “He continues to deny the charges and has shown no remorse despite committing a serious crime.”
The defendant’s lawyer argued, “The defendant admits to trespassing and intending to commit theft, but he did not possess a weapon, and there is no evidence supporting the claim that he entered the home armed.”
Last November 15th, prosecutors arrested and indicted the man on charges of breaking into Nana’s home in Gyeonggi Province while armed, threatening Nana and her mother, and attempting to steal money, though the attempt was unsuccessful.
The court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on the 9th of next month.
