Lee Yi Kyung has finally broken his silence, sharing a personal update after a lengthy hiatus.
On May 9th, the actor posted photos on his social media with the caption, “My first marathon ever. I Am Solo Run! I was so happy!”

The images show Lee participating in the “2026 I Am Solo Run” marathon in Yeouido alongside co-star Song Haena. Fans quickly noticed that Lee appeared somewhat gaunt in the photos, seemingly reflecting the emotional toll of his recent public struggles.
The actor’s return to the spotlight comes after a turbulent year. Last year, Lee was embroiled in a private life controversy that led him to pursue legal action. Shortly after, he sparked further backlash by publicly criticizing the production team of Hangout with Yoo following his departure from the show.
Tension peaked during a recent awards ceremony when Lee delivered an acceptance speech that notably omitted any mention of Yoo Jae Suk, his longtime co-star alongside Haha and Joo Woo Jae. Many saw this as a subtle jab at the legendary entertainer.
Amid growing criticism, Lee’s agency stepped in to de-escalate the situation, stating, “He did not intentionally omit Yoo Jae Suk. There is no reason for him to do so. We hope his acceptance speech is taken at face value.”
