The third hearing for Kim Soo Hyun‘s multi-billion-won damages lawsuit has been officially postponed.

Originally set for April 24th, the court has rescheduled the proceedings and will announce a new date later.

This legal battle began when advertisers sued Kim Soo Hyun for contract termination and damages following controversy involving the late Kim Sae Ron. In a previous hearing, a cosmetics company argued for a higher compensation amount, stating that it became impossible to run their campaign given the nature of the scandal the actor found himself in. The company announced the termination by pointing to a contract clause where “social offenses” can include unverified rumors, arguing that if rumors alone are a violation, then verified issues certainly are as well.

Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team has hit back at these claims, arguing that a relationship between two consenting adults does not violate a professional “duty to maintain dignity.” They also denied allegations from Kim Sae Ron’s family that the two dated for six years, starting when she was only 15. The actor’s side maintains that their relationship only began after she was an adult and asserts that the evidence provided by her family was fabricated and edited. In response, Kim Soo Hyun has filed a defamation lawsuit against the family and the operators of the Garo Sero Institute for spreading false information.
