Jisoo is making waves on the global stage, earning a major honor at the Cannes International Series Festival—even as controversy surrounding her family continues back home.

On April 23rd (local time), Jisoo attended the opening ceremony of the 9th Cannes International Series Festival in Cannes, France, stepping onto the event’s signature pink carpet.

Fans gathered in large numbers, holding signs written in Korean reading “Jisoo, we love you.” The singer-actress greeted them warmly, signing autographs and posing for photos with a relaxed smile.

That same day, Jisoo was named the recipient of the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award, presented by the French publication. Taking the stage, she expressed her gratitude in French, saying, “Merci beaucoup,” visibly moved by the moment.

Local media highlighted not only her win but also her poised stage presence. Festival organizers praised her as a global pop icon, citing Blackpink’s sold-out world tours and string of hits, along with her massive social media reach of over 80 million Instagram followers.

Meanwhile, separate reports have drawn attention to a controversy involving Jisoo’s older brother. According to reporter-turned-YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, Jisoo had already distanced herself from him following allegations of secret filming that surfaced in May 2025.

He also addressed the recent backlash over his name appearing in Boyfriend on Demand’s credits, explaining, “The credits were based on materials that had only been gathered up to the time the project was filmed.” He added, “When Jisoo found out about it on March 6, she was extremely upset. She strongly protested, which led to her brother’s name being removed from the ending credits,” clarifying why it was ultimately edited out.

Lee further claimed that re-editing a finalized master cut comes at a significant cost. “I’m told it costs over 10 million KRW (about 6,740 USD). But because her brother’s name was included, Jisoo requested it be removed and even paid the cost herself,” he said.
