Jang Da A is set to star in the upcoming film Cherry Boy (literal title), according to a report by MyDaily on April 19th. The 25-year-old actress will take on the role of Jung Sook in the production.

Cherry Boy is described as a teen school drama that blends romantic comedy with youthful melodrama. The cast is scheduled to hold a full script reading next week, with principal photography expected to begin shortly after.

Jang Da A, who is the older sister of IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, officially debuted in 2024 through the series Pyramid Game and later appeared in My Troublesome Star. She recently made her big-screen debut in the critically acclaimed horror-thriller Salmokji: Whispering Water, which proved to be a box-office success by surpassing one million viewers. In that film, she played Sejeong, a young producer running a horror-themed YouTube channel. Despite being a newcomer, she is quickly becoming a “blue chip” in the industry due to her versatile performances.

The film will be helmed by director Park Hyun Chul, whose previous credits include serving as an assistant director for Bong Joon Ho’s Snowpiercer and directing The Silence of the Dogs. Joining Jang Da A in the lead cast are actors Kim Mu Jun and Lee Jae In.
