IU and breakout actor Byun Woo Seok just pulled off the ultimate April Fools’ Day prank, and the internet is loving it.
On April 1st, Elle Korea’s Instagram shared photos of IU and Byun Woo Seok with the caption, “We’re getting married.”
The post had a wedding-invitation design with a message that read, “We invite you to that special moment on the day IU and Byun Woo Seok are brought together. The two who once looked elsewhere now wish to look at each other.” It ended with, “You can check the full details and story on the couple’s mobile wedding invitation, linked in Elle Korea’s profile.”
The link led to an event post titled “IU Byun Woo Seok: We Are Getting Married.”The post kept the wedding invitation theme with pictures that looked like a wedding photoshoot and included details for a comment event.
Fans played along, flooding the comments with fun support: “I fully support the couple of the century”, “Congrats on the marriage! This is the best prank ever”, “A high-fashion wedding for April Fools? Elle nailed it”, “I can’t believe I was invited to the wedding of Prince Yian and CEO Seong Hee Joo!”
Though the “wedding” was just for fun, fans are now eagerly awaiting their upcoming K-drama Perfect Crown, where IU and Byun Woo Seok will play a married royal couple.
