IU and Byeon Woo Seok are bringing undeniable chemistry and a bold love story to Perfect Crown.
MBC’s upcoming drama has released its main teaser, offering a first look at the romance between Seong Hee Joo (IU) and Prince Yian (Byeon Woo Seok).
The teaser opens with Hee Joo flashing a confident smile as she proposes, “Why don’t you marry me?”—catching the prince off guard. Armed with elite credentials, resilience, and independence as a commoner with no political baggage, she makes a compelling case for herself. Yian quickly responds, “I can’t say no to that,” accepting her proposal.
From there, the two step into a whirlwind romance. At Yian’s command to “prepare to become a princess consort,” they’re seen sharing intimate, almost fairytale-like moments—walking hand in hand under flashing lights and waltzing through a grand ballroom.
But their relationship doesn’t go unchallenged.
Prime Minister Min Jung Woo (Noh Sang Hyun) urges Yian to push Hee Joo away from the royal family, while Queen Dowager Yoon Yi Rang (Gong Seung Yeon) pressures Min to veto the marriage entirely. With powerful figures from both the government and the palace standing against them, their path forward looks anything but easy.
Still, as the stakes rise, so do their feelings—with subtle shifts in their expressions hinting at a deeper, growing connection.
Perfect Crown sets up a high-stakes clash between love, power, and duty, as Hee Joo and Yian choose marriage as a way to challenge their fates, even as opposition closes in from all sides.
