Production on the highly anticipated action sequel Veteran 3 has officially been pushed back.
The film’s production company, Filmmaker R&D, recently notified the cast and crew of a shift in the shooting timeline.
Originally slated to begin in April—immediately following director Ryoo Seung Wan’s promotional tour for his upcoming film Humint—the project has been sidelined due to “internal production issues.” Sources say the reorganization of the shooting schedule was communicated to the team last week.
The delay has created a major logistical headache for the film’s A-list leads. Hwang Jung Min, Junho and Chun Woo Hee had reportedly cleared their spring and summer calendars specifically for the project. With filming now potentially pushed to late 2026, the actors are forced to reshuffle their schedules and review other project options.
Expectations for the third installment are sky-high following the massive success of its original film. Veteran, released in 2015, was a box office hit, drawing 13.4 million viewers to become one of the highest-grossing films in South Korean history. It was widely praised for its gritty action choreography and sharp social commentary.
